January is the month to snuggle up in your favorite blanket, sip on some delicious drinks, and dive into books and Netflix shows that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Let’s make this month as cozy as possible with the ultimate cozy corner essentials: books, drinks, and Netflix recommendations!

  1. Winter Reads for January 📖

There’s just something about starting the new year with a heartwarming rom-com. Whether you’re looking for swoon-worthy love stories, witty banter, or just pure feel-good vibes, these rom-coms will keep you hooked all month long:

  • “The Soulmate Equation” by Christina Lauren – If you love a mix of science and romance, this is the perfect pick! A quirky, heartwarming story about a woman who signs up for a DNA-based matchmaking service and ends up paired with her complete opposite.
  • “The Happy Ever After Playlist” by Abby Jimenez – If you’ve ever connected with a song on a deep level, this one’s for you. It’s about Sloane, who’s grieving the death of her fiancé and finds herself unexpectedly falling for a guy named Jason, all while bonding over a playlist he made for her. This book is an absolute vibe—it’s sweet, emotional, and so relatable. Imagine listening to a playlist while reading and feeling all the feels. Perfect for a cozy night with fairy lights and fuzzy socks.
  • “Life’s Too Short” by Abby Jimenez – If you’re looking for a story that’s a little more on the feel-good side with just the right amount of deep moments, this one is it. It’s about Vanessa, who has a terminal illness but decides to live her best life and embrace every moment. She meets her grumpy yet swoon-worthy neighbor, Adrian, and their connection is so pure and heartwarming. The book is all about love, living in the moment, and making the most of life—no matter what. It’s the perfect cozy read to make you laugh, cry, and feel ALL the things.
  • “Maybe Someday” by Colleen Hoover – If you’re a sucker for love triangles, emotional growth, and stories that are equal parts heartbreaking and heartwarming, this is a must read. It’s got the perfect mix of angst, music, and deep emotional connections that will make you feel all the feels. You’ll find yourself rooting for Sydney and Ridge while feeling totally connected to the beauty of their story.
  1. Warm Drinks for January ☕

There’s nothing like sipping on a warm drink to make the winter months feel magical. Whether you’re unwinding after a busy day or having a slow morning, here are some cozy drinks to enjoy this January:

  • Vanilla Chai Latte – A little sweet, a little spicy, and oh-so-cozy. The warm blend of spices with the sweetness of vanilla will make you feel like you’re sipping on a hug in a mug.
  • Golden Milk (Turmeric Latte) – Packed with warmth and health benefits, golden milk is perfect for January. It’s made with turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon, giving you the cozy feels while boosting your immune system.
  • Maple Cinnamon Latte – Maple and cinnamon are THE flavors of winter. Add a little extra sweetness to your morning coffee routine with a splash of maple syrup and a dash of cinnamon. Perfection in every sip!
  • Caramel Apple Cider – When you’re craving a cozy, fall inspired drink in the middle of winter, this is it. Sweet, tangy apple cider with caramel is perfect for sipping while you read or watch your favorite Netflix show.
  • Cocoa Coffee – Combine your love for hot cocoa and coffee with this combination. Add some cocoa powder. If you’re a whipped cream fan, you can add that in also to top it off.
  1. Netflix Night Picks for January 📺

January is the month to hibernate a bit, binge-watch your favorite shows, and discover some new ones. Whether you’re in the mood for a drama, comedy, or a little bit of everything, these Netflix picks are perfect for your cozy corner:

  • “Nobody Wants This” – The only drama I accept in my life is the kind I watch on TV, and this series is exceptional… and unpredictable. It has thought-provoking stories with powerful and emotional moments. It explores social issues and complex emotions, keeping you on the edge of your seat with shocking twists and deep character development. It’s hard for me to get into series or shows, but this one has me anticipating season 2.
  • “Bridgerton” – This show had me at “I burn for you.” Season after season, this series continues to deliver the perfect mix of romance and scandal that keeps you coming back for more. The chemistry between the leads? Unmatched.
  •  “YOU” – This series is about Joe Goldberg’s twisted love story in this psychological thriller. It’s suspenseful, dark, and full of unexpected twists that will keep you hooked. It’s a mix of love and suspense, with a dark twist.
  • “I am Georgina” – A docuseries about Georgina Rodríguez and her life with her soccer superstar boyfriend, Cristiano Ronaldo, and their children. From humble beginnings to a Cinderella-type story to a life filled with luxury, fashion, and personal moments. I find her very genuine and interesting.
  • “Emily in Paris” – Emily is an American marketing executive who finds herself in the heart of Paris, navigating work, friendships, and romance with a touch of je ne sais quoi. Her adventures in Paris are full of romance, humor, stunning fashion, and bad decisions in life, but really good ones in marketing that I take notes on.
  • “Love on the Spectrum” – This reality series follows individuals on the autism spectrum as they explore the world of dating and relationships. It’s emotional, authentic, and incredibly wholesome. It’s a feel-good, genuine look at love. I have a brother who’s on the spectrum, so this hit home for me. It makes me happy that he has found his girl.
  • “Fuller House” – This heartwarming family comedy brings back the Tanner family and all the familiar faces we loved in Full House. It’s packed with humor, love, and life lessons that make it the perfect show to wind down to. Whether you’re in the mood for laughs or a dose of nostalgia, this one is the ultimate feel-good escape… minus the Olsen twins.

Now that you have all your cozy corner essentials ready, January is officially your month to relax, unwind, and embrace all the beauty the season has to offer. Whether you’re reading, sipping, or binge-watching, make this month about creating the coziest vibes possible. Stay warm and enjoy every moment of your cozy January 2025! ✨

A Barbie girl living in a Disney world where she can showcase her extravagant costumes, where extra EXTRA is never enough, where her obnoxious shower singing sounds like Beyoncé, and where she can hug random collared dogs because that most likely indicates they don’t have rabies. A hopeless romantic who binges rom-com marathons, yet despises dating and dating apps. Yalina lives, laughs, and loves on her people – her big, scattered Mexican family, and framily, who remain super close to her heart. But as an avid runner, if you can’t find her, chances are she’s running like Forrest – far, far away… from her problems… and dating.
