Spring has definitely sprung… up on us so quickly! There’s something about April that feels like a reset – maybe it’s the gratitude and joy of Resurrection Day, maybe it’s the way the sun lingers a little longer (shout out to springtime Daylight Saving Time! Stay permanent, please). Life gets a little busier, but also a little softer in the best way.
I asked my peeps what their favorite moments were this April, and honestly… this month delivered in the most wholesome way.
Here’s what made April that girl:
Ayin: Spring Break = FREEDOM!
Spring break isn’t always a break for parents… unless by some miracle the heavens shine and the schedules align. And this April? They did.
“Spring break at our house is a scheduling Olympics. One kid is in college, the other in elementary so naturally, their breaks never, ever line up. But this time? A miracle. It’s like I accidentally got my own spring break. No homework reminders, no school pickups, no daily “what am I feeding these humans?” crisis. Just me… and the rare luxury of not being on duty 24/7. FREEdom!”

I mean, who doesn’t love a spontaneous staycation moment?
Geolyn: It’s A Love Story (Taylor’s Version).
April came in strong for Geolyn.
Love seems to follow and surround Geolyn everywhere she goes, and we LOVE that for her.
“1. My favorite daughter, Aijah Raye, got engaged! Her fiancée Jonathan meticulously planned their surprise engagement party. They live in NY, but he flew out in March to ask for our blessing. Then he planned to fly his parents out to Cali for the first time to “celebrate his mom’s birthday” in April. We gathered all our families to make sure no one missed the proposal! She was absolutely surprised, and it was magical. We laughed, we cried, we had live jazz musicians… it was such a vibe – a beautiful, special, momentous occasion. Everything came together perfectly, and I feel so blessed to add him to our family. And the RING! Man, oh man…
2. My husband and I are dating like we just met – Korean day spas, backyard camping, plotting future getaways. We’ve been pouring real time and energy into US, and honestly, the return on investment is chef’s kiss phenomenal.
3. Birthday bonanza! Two of my baby nieces – Remi and Luna – turned 3 this month! 3 is fun!! I love my smart, sassy, funny, intelligent, beautiful little brown babies. Rolling solo to kid birthday parties is interesting since I don’t have any of my own anymore…LOL. April is also my nephew’s, my in-laws’, and my mom’s birthdays!
4. Bitter sweet moments: My oldest son, Maseo moved to San Francisco for an amazing job opportunity he couldn’t pass up. Seeing him go apartment hunting in the SF market is adulting at its realest. And my youngest son, Greyson started driving! As much as I miss our car time commutes, It feels amazing, yet strangely odd, to not have to drop off or take anyone, anywhere. LOL. Seeing both of them blossoming and thriving in these streets makes me beyond proud.”

Proud mom era, fully activated.
Penelope: Spring Day.
April slowed things down in the sweetest way for Penelope by leaning into the quiet, everyday moments that just feel good.
“April has made it better for our plants at home because they’re blooming with flowers, and the leaves are flourishing. My husband tends to them religiously, and seeing him be excited and happy to show me new blooms or growths makes my heart happy.
Another thing that made my April special was watching BTS – their Tokyo Concert was shown in select theatres here in the US, and I was able to watch it with my husband! Haha! Currently working on converting him into ARMY.”

Watching BTS live (from a theater seat) and low-key recruiting her husband into the fandom? Iconic behavior.
Louie: A Simple Kinda Life.
April didn’t need to be loud to be good.
“Go-to snacks always provided (shoutout to Ayin!), Novo Amor/Lord Huron on repeat, and the unexpected appreciation of shampoo when it doubles as body wash. Adult kids took us out on a trip, and I got a new bike!”

Honestly, resourcefulness is a lifestyle. Add in a trip, courtesy of the kids (we love a full-circle moment), and a new bike? That’s a pretty solid month.
Samantha: Don’t Stop Beliebing!
“Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc with frozen peaches has been my go-to budget-friendly summer drink, my Justin Bieber playlist has been on repeat (OG Belieber with no shame). As an assistant director for the pre-k and kindergarten classes at church, one of my favorite moments was this past Sunday, when two parents told me they felt relieved to see me at drop-off. It was such a rewarding reminder that what I do matters.”

Honestly… it’s giving iced drink in hand, OG playlist on blast, and doing meaningful work without even trying to make it a “big moment.” Just soft life tings.
Eder: Lose Yourself (Even If It’s Just 2 Miles)
“My top 3 April favorites:

Entertainment, movement, and grounding all in one. We love a well-rounded era.
Maritza: Let’s Get Physical (But Make It Pilates)
April came with plot twists… and sore muscles.
“1. Trying Lagree and Pilates — Lagree humbled me immediately, so that’s a no from me (for now). Pilates, though? She’s growing on me. I can feel my Pilates girly era approaching.
2. My sour patch niece, Nyla snuck out of bed for a late-night snack, got caught, and the moment her mom hit record she instantly switched to, ‘Hi Mary, come visit me and bring me gifts and makeup.’ Zero shame, full cuteness. Easily an April highlight.”

One minute you’re being personally victimized by a workout machine, the next you’re witnessing Oscar-worthy performance from a tiny human. Growth and entertainment. We love to see it.
From April, With Love.
April wasn’t just one thing – it was everything. Big milestones, quiet joys, chaotic schedules, sweet routines, and those random little wins that make you pause and think, ok… life is kinda beautiful right now.
If April taught us anything, it’s that your “favorite” doesn’t have to be big to matter. Sometimes it’s a blooming plant. Sometimes it’s a break in the (usually) chaotic schedule. Sometimes it’s just finally not having to figure out what’s for dinner.
And honestly? That’s the vibe we’re carrying into May.
