Thirty-five years in business teaches you a lot. Some lessons came from big wins. Some lessons come from big losses. And then there’s everything that happens in between. Natural disasters, global pandemics, price increases, delayed shipments, employee turnovers, IT meltdowns, supply chain disasters, unpaid invoices and chargebacks that make us question everything. Whether the lessons are physical, financial, or mental – it’s clear as day that we started from the bottom, now we’re HERE.
But through it all, we’ve learned that building a business – especially a family business – is about far more than products. It’s about people, purpose, perseverance, impact, and showing up every single day especially when things get hard, messy, and sometimes just downright icky.

So, in honor of our 35th anniversary, here are 35 lessons we’ve learned along the way.
1. Worship and prayer belong in business.
This is our foundation. The company that prays together, stays together.
2. Giving back matters.
For every reason, in every season…bless others and give back in abundance.
3. Family businesses are equal parts blessing and group project.
Juggling personality differences. strong opinions, and conflicting schedules is a job in itself.
4. Customers remember how you made them feel.
The moment one of our kits comes in clutch, they see the value our products hold.

5. A good team changes everything.
No company survives 35 years alone.

6. With God as our guide and greatest resource, we can survive anything.
Hard seasons don’t last forever.
7. The best ideas usually happen in casual conversations
Or while eating snacks in someone’s office. Or inconveniently in the middle of the night.
8. There is no such thing as “just” an employee.
People and culture are the heart of everything.
9. Leadership doesn’t mean having all the answers.
It means being willing to keep going anyway.
10. Packaging matters.
People absolutely judge a KIT by its cover.

11. Loyalty is built, not bought.
And it’s one of the greatest gifts in business.
12. Not every opportunity is the right opportunity.
Learning to say no is part of growing.
13. You don’t need to be the biggest company to make a big impact.
Purpose scales differently.
14. Every business has messy middle seasons.
Growth rarely looks glamorous while you’re living through it.
15. Freight will humble you and logistics builds character.
Shipping rates and timelines are more like… creative suggestions. Nothing will test your faith quite like it.
16. Humor can save a hard day.
Sometimes you gotta laugh hard so you don’t cry.

17. If you think something will take 10 minutes, budget an hour.
Every “quick question” is actually a trap.
18. Trade shows and sales appointments should be considered cardio.
Good luggage and comfortable shoes are good investments, and well-deserved recovery days are appreciated.
19. The copier only jams when you’re already stressed
As if it feels our energy… we’ll never understand why.
20. The best leaders stay teachable.
Even after 35 years.
21. Trends change. Values shouldn’t.
One thing is certain…. integrity never goes out of style.

22. Celebrating wins matters.
Even the small ones.
23. There will always be setbacks.
Plans change. Things break. You adapt and keep moving.
24. Some of the hardest years become the most important chapters.
Pressure creates growth.
25. Women bring incredible strength to leadership.
Especially when they lead with both grit and heart.
26. Preparedness is really about caring for people.
That’s always been the bigger mission behind the products.
27. You cannot build a healthy company culture by accident.
It takes intention every single day.

28. Relationships open doors.
Business is built on trust, transparency, and communication.
29. “We’ll figure it out” has gotten us surprisingly far.
Not officially recommended… but so very true.
30. Innovation keeps companies alive.
You have to evolve while staying true to who you are.
31. Gratitude changes perspective.
Especially during stressful seasons.
32. The little moments become the big memories.
Warehouse jokes. Fun fellowships. Birthday cakes. Team building. That’s the good stuff.
33. Legacy is built one day at a time.
Not in giant moments.
34. Success means more when you share it with people you love.
Especially family.
35. After 35 years, our greatest achievement still isn’t the products.
It’s the people, the relationships, and the purpose behind it all.
To every single person who has caught our vision and joined our mission – every employee, past and present, who has poured their hard work into this company; every customer who has trusted us; every partner who has believed in us; and every family member who has helped carry this vision forward – THANK YOU. This celebration is for you. You are not just part of our journey… You are part of our story.
Thirty-five years represents more than longevity. It represents perseverance through uncertainty, growth through change, faith through every season, leadership through challenge, and purpose through it all.
We know our business is about more than selling products. It is about God’s faithfulness. It is about serving communities, investing in people, building lasting relationships, supporting one another, and creating something meaningful that will outlive us.
So, here’s to the prayers prayed in uncertain seasons, the sacrifices no one saw, the risks and leaps that were taken in faith, and the people who stood beside us through all the highs and lows. Because after 35 years, one thing is undeniable: this company was never built by one person alone. It was built by God’s grace, countless hands, faithful hearts, and a purpose far greater than ourselves.
And if the last 35 years have taught us anything, it’s this – when vision is rooted and grounded in God, faith, people, and purpose… the story is far from over. Word on the street is we’re just getting started. 😉
